Just 80km northwest of Tashkent, professional ornithologists and nature lovers can meet in the valley of Chimgan such kind of birds like Nuthatch, Lesser Grey Shrike, and Golden Oriole, nightingales, Whitethroats and pine buntings.
The area south of Samarkand undoubtedly is one of the most interesting places for bird watchers. Here you will see griffon vulture and the black vulture making circles in the sky. These birds nest on mountain peaks around. Shrike and white neck blackbirds can be found in the bushes. In the neighborhood cliffs can be found Nuthatch and larks. Wheatear and Asian flycatcher cavort in crowns of tall trees.
In Zarafshan reserve with ponds and riparian forests, you can see Night Heron and White-winged woodpeckers.
Reed warbler, great and pygmy cormorants inhabit in the east of Bukhara. Nearby you can find Plover, Caspian Gulls, red crested Pochard and purple heron.
